Connecting Greens on the North Shore

Welcome to the site of the North Vancouver Green Party of Canada Electoral District Association! Founded in 2004, the organization has grown from a handful of volunteers to an enthusiastic team of over 225 people today. We have fielded candidates in all five recent federal elections. Our last campaign, with Claire Martin as the candidate, was our largest. We received more donations, attracted the most volunteers, and for the first time, rented an office. We all learned a great deal.

The riding of North Vancouver stretches from the Capilano River on the west to the Seymour River on the east. We encompass the City of North Vancouver, a portion of the District of North Vancouver and two Squamish communities, one at the north end of the Lions Gate Bridge and the other on Bragg and Mosquito Creeks. For our boundary details, see this map.

If you would like to attend one of our regular meetings or find out about an upcoming event, please contact us. We are always keen on  new volunteers! If you live in our riding, you can become an official member of our group by joining the Green Party of Canada. As a member of our association, you would have the opportunity to select the organization’s executive and pick a candidate for the next election.

CleanBC Plan: What does it mean for BC communities? organized by Cool North Shore

    7 pm - 8:30 pmNorth Vancouver City Library 3rd floor Program Room, 120 W. 14th Street North Vancouver, BC V7M 1N9 Canada

The goal with Cool North Shore's Cool Drinks events is for North Shore residents to become well informed about local sustainability issues and feel empowered to take action together to create a low-carbon community.

At February's Cool Drinks, Nancy Olewiler of SFU and the Province of BC's Climate Advisory Council will share key actions from CleanBC, the BC government's new climate change plan; how the Council participated in its development; and next steps for the Province of BC with respect to climate action.

Afterwards, Dale Littlejohn of the Community Energy Association will discuss possible policies and climate change initiatives that municipalities could implement to support the high level actions in CleanBC.

Following the presentations, time will be available for a Q&A with our guest speakers.
