Who We Are

We are a dedicated group of volunteers working year round to promote the core values of the Green Party of Canada. The Green Party of Canada is founded on six key principles that were adopted at the 2002 convention of the Global Greens. These principles are:

• ecological wisdom
• non-violence
• social justice
• sustainability
• participatory democracy
• respect for diversity

We help to advance these issues in North Vancouver by taking part in as many community events as we can. We are a grassroots organization and have a very active group of members – we’d love to have you join us! Please sign up for information on our next upcoming meeting by filling in your details under the “Contact” tab.

Meet some of our volunteers

David Hunter

David Hunter

CEO

Dave is a retired computer software executive who wants to help get more Green Party members elected and believes that we can have influence far beyond the number of seats we win. The policies of other parties typically focus on the next election, whereas Green Party policies focus on the next generation, which is what motives him.

Alison Watt

Alison Watt

Alison joined the Green Party after hearing Elizabeth May talk about the issues of importance to the Green Party and felt inspired to get involved. She has a background in administration and had the honour to co-share the role of Office Administrator for Claire Martin’s 2015 campaign.  She has lived in North Vancouver since 1990, and together with husband Robb raised two children here on “The Shore”.
Claudia Cornwall

Claudia Cornwall

Financial Agent

Claudia is a prize-winning author of six books and over fifty magazine articles. She has been an enthusiastic member of the North Vancouver EDA since its inception in 2004.

Anna Boltenko

Anna Boltenko

BC Green Coordinator for North Vancouver-Lonsdale Riding

Born and raised outside of Canada, Anna settled on the North Shore in 2013 and joined the Green Party in 2015. She was so inspired by natural beauty of BC that decided to switch her personal, professional and academic interests from cement industry total quality management to local food systems and food insecurity issues. She believes that creating an integrated and vibrant food culture in Vancouver’s North Shore will help to bring people together, increase social connectedness within neighborhoods and build a sustainable and resilient North Shore community.

Simon Rear

Simon Rear

Simon is a member of the North Vancouver EDA Executive board, and an active member of both the Green Party of Canada and the BC Green Party. Simon is an avid outdoor enthusiast, and enjoys hiking, camping, and all other means of appreciating the natural beauty BC has to offer.

Joel Woznow

Joel Woznow

Young Greens British Columbia Representative

Being a university student, Joel is a passionate lover of the natural world around us and strong believer in the merits of good values in people and our political parties. He became an active Green Party member when he joined the North Vancouver EDA Board as Young Green Representative in 2016. He wanted to do his part to create a better world for us, our children, and everything that lives on this irreplaceable planet.  As the Young Green British Columbia Representative Joel is planning to encourage more youth in British Columbia to get involved in politics.

Jennifer Johnson

Jennifer Johnson

Young Greens

Jennifer joined the North Vancouver Green Party EDA Board in 2017 after travelling abroad for a year. Though Jennifer has always been interested in environmentalism, it was hiking through lush rainforests, diving in oceans, and climbing mountain ranges that solidified her passion for advocating for the environment both locally and abroad. Upon returning to her home of North Vancouver, Jennifer aspired to get involved in politics that aligned with her values and hopes to inspire more youth to do the same. Jennifer is a marketer, yoga instructor, and lover of all outdoor activities.
